Bury Your Unbeliefنموونە
Area of Unbelief #3: Disease
Now, let us talk about being sick—disease. Illness, especially chronic illness, can be a big deal. The leper came to Jesus and knelt before him and said, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean?” Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said, “be cleansed.”
I like fast answers. Today’s reading says the leper was cleansed of his leprosy immediately. But, what if it is a slow answer (like Job)? What if it is a process? It seems like God likes to use process a lot. Have you noticed that? If we believe for healing and it is taking a while, sometimes we begin to ask questions. “Well, where is God? Why has He not helped me yet?” People then get nervous and backslide, which is silly. You turn down what God can give you. Hebrews 10:23 says, “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.”
Don’t give up—He is faithful! Bury your unbelief that says God is not willing to heal. He is the one “Who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases” (Psalm 103:3).
Ask yourself: Is there anything that I’m waiting for God to heal in my life or a loved one’s life? Have I given up, or am I close to giving up? Does my faith need a boost?
About this Plan
Has anyone spoken words against you that have broken your spirit? Have those words taken root and led to negative patterns like persistent disappointment, a critical mindset, illness, or even disaster or despair? This reading plan focuses on five areas of our lives where negative thoughts turn into areas of unbelief that can hold us back from experiencing peace, hope, and healing.
