Through the Bible: Genesis

DAY 2 OF 15

Reset Our Lives in Obedience

The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the Lord regretted that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart.
Genesis 6:5-6
Then the Lord said to Noah, “Go into the ark, you and all your household, for I have seen that you are righteous before me in this generation.
Genesis 7:1

Contrary to God’s joy in Genesis 1, Genesis 4-8 shows how God was devastated after seeing the people He once created turn away from Him. But God found Noah, a righteous man in His eyes and asked Him to build an ark to continue the human race when God ‘reset’ the earth. People thought that Noah was crazy but he faithfully continued to do what the Lord called him to do. Amidst this turbulent and confusing world when Biblical virtues fade and evils are being praised, do we follow the ways of the world or remain faithful to what the Lord calls us to do for His Kingdom?

Prayer:

Father God, thank You for Your faithfulness and love. You made a covenant with Noah who did everything just as You commanded and You gave him life. In the same way, You blessed us with Jesus and Your word, so that as we repent our sins and follow You, we will be forgiven and be renewed. Father God, help us to find the strength to withstand temptations, to find faith in standing in Your ways even when it seems odd to the world. Lord, help us to reset our lives so we can live out Your promises and restore our precious relationship with You, Amen.

About this Plan

Through the Bible: Genesis

Everyone has an origin. It explains why we are here, and who we really are. But what about the origin of mankind? The answer lies in the book of Genesis, which means “in the beginning”. The book will help us understand the beginning of creation, the fall of mankind and unfolds God’s redemptive plan for humanity. Please join us as we journey Through The Bible starting with Genesis.
