Light and Darknessنموونە
At the end of the world, light and darkness will be completely separated from each other
In this world, light and darkness are still mixed. Christians live as children of light, but they are surrounded by darkness. And over and over, they are confronted with specks of sin and darkness in their own hearts, too. But this will not be so forever. At the end of time, God will judge humanity. Then He will separate those who believe in Him from those who reject Him.
Jesus calls every single human to believe in Him and be saved. He says: “I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness”. But there are many people who do not accept Him. They prefer to remain in their darkness. At the last judgment, God will send them away from His light into the outer darkness. The people who have believed in Him, on the other hand, will be invited to inherit God’s Kingdom where “night will be no more […] for the Lord God will be their light” (Revelation 22:5). Here will be no more sin or sorrow or death. Darkness will be gone forever. That’s a great perspective!

About this Plan
Immediately in the first chapter of the Bible, we read how God created light. And further on in the Bible, light is often used as a metaphor for God’s domain as opposed to the domain of sin and death. Jesus even calls Himself “the Light of the world”. Light and darkness thus have an important place in the Bible. This reading plan presents a selection of verses about this topic.
