Following Jesus requires sacrifice.  When we choose to put our trust in Jesus, we choose to say that we are trusting that what Jesus says is best.  This means it is so important for us to be talking to him and asking him how we are supposed to live.  This level of obedience calls for us to give up our way of thinking and instead focus on what Jesus asks us to do.  When Jesus was asked about which commandments are important, he said that we are to love God and love others.  Are you currently doing this?  How well are you loving God?  How well are you loving the people in your life?  How can you sacrifice for Jesus today?

 Challenge: Today, we challenge you to evaluate how well you are following Jesus.  In what ways have you let your own thoughts and desires override what Jesus is calling you to do?  What can you start or stop doing in order to fully follow Jesus today?
