Faithful Son

In John 19:25-27, it says that Jesus, son of God was obedient to His Heavenly Father, yet He did not neglect his responsibility as a son to Mary. Many of the last words of Jesus were addressed to His Heavenly Father, but here it reveals the honor he had for his mother. This must have been comforting to a sorrowful mother. Though we know Mary had other sons, Jesus did not neglect or leave this responsibility to others. Whilse our relationship with our Heavenly Father is the most important, we should neither neglect our physical relationships.

Prayer: Father, I’m grateful for my parents and my family. As a child of God, teach me to honour my parents in a way that will bring honour to Your Name. Amen.
