Love God Greatly: Everlasting Covenant

DAY 22 OF 28

God determined that there would be one last prophet who would preach the coming of the Savior. In His typical fashion, God chose a couple who could not have children and promised them a baby. This baby would grow to be John the Baptist, the man who would prepare the people of his day for the coming of Jesus.

Can you imagine Elizabeth’s joy? Not only would she be able to have the baby she had longed for, not only had God removed her disgrace, but this child would grow up to serve the Lord in an amazing way.

God is constantly working in ways that are out of the ordinary and He continues to do so today. We might not recognize it as much because we are living in the moment, but God makes promises to us in His Word and He keeps them. He makes promises to you and keeps them. He can do extraordinary things in our lives. Let’s trust that His ways are amazing and best.

Lord, help us to look more closely at our lives and see how You have worked and the promises You have kept. Open our eyes so we are not blind to Your goodness.
