When the Dust Settles

DAY 2 OF 4

Things change every day, and those changes impact us significantly. People change. We all do!  Allergies change us. Economies change us. Children change us. Traffic changes us. Fitness changes us. Culture changes us.

However, the person of God is always unshaken. God is unchanged by the world. While we all change every day, depending on the circumstances of our lives, the person of God remains consistent.

In scripture, we see Jesus respond to Martha amid great change in her life. Jesus speaks directly to Martha about His nature and how it impacts her life and family. Though our circumstances may look bad, God is still good. Though we may feel one way, Jesus offers us His presence, His constancy, His stability, His protection, His unchanging nature, and His unending promise. He is near us, always. He offers a solution and hope during every challenge. The person of God is unshaken.

Questions:

Most of us can identify someone in our lives who is reliable and not easily impacted by the world around us.

Can you identify someone in your life who, like Jesus, extends an uncomplicated, kingdom-focused view on the world?

Can you set a daily reminder for yourself that Jesus is unshaken?
