How Much Is Enough?نموونە
Money, Money, Money!
Yesterday, we watched a video from Leslie that showed how easy it can be to spend all your money while hardly even realizing it! Remember? She spent all the money she earned on shoes, and was shocked at the end of the year to realize just how much it was!
But don’t worry. There’s a better way! You can be a generous giver and still have money for your needs and even some of your wants. But, it will take some planning. Watch Quizman’s video for more on that!
First, you give. Plan to give your tithe, or 10 percent of the money you earn, to God through your church. Plan for any additional giving you’d like to do, too. Maybe to your favorite animal shelter. Maybe to a friend of yours who’s in need. That’s up to you!
Then, plan to save some of your money for things you may need in the future. Finally, plan to spend some of your money on things you want or need now. Boom! You’ve got it!
You may not receive any sort of income now, and that’s okay! Most people your age don’t have a job or a source of money yet. But, you’ll be ready when you do. You’ll be wise with your money. You’ll be generous!
Ask yourself: What’s one way I’d like to be generous with money?
Challenge yourself: Gather three envelopes and something to draw or write with. If you can’t find envelopes, just get three pieces of paper, fold them in half, and glue the right and left edges together. Write “GIVE” on one envelope, “SAVE” on the other, and “SPEND” on the last one. Then, draw or write things you’d like to give to, save up for, or buy on the appropriate envelopes. Use these to separate your money now or help you keep track of any money you might get in the future!
Pray: God, thank You for being the source of everything I get. Help me to use my money the way You say is best. Help me to be wise with it. Also, help me to be generous with it—just like You’re so generous with me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
About this Plan
Do you ever want just a little bit more? More sneakers. More skateboards. More candy. More games. Whatever it may be that you love, you just want more! This Bible Plan will help you learn to say a thankful “enough,” and help you see that when you live like Jesus, you can find more happiness in asking “How much can I give?” instead of “How much more can I get?”
