The Nature Of The Propheticنموونە
Pure
But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. (James 3:17)
Father greatly desires a pure expression of the prophetic. He longs for an unblemished representation of His heart which draws people back to Himself. God is calling His people back to a place of holiness and righteousness. He is calling His people back to the starting place for the prophetic: the origin of God himself.
The gifts of the Spirit must be exactly that: of the Spirit. To be pure, the prophetic must originate from heavenly wisdom. It should be created from the voice, the will, and the intention of the Father. Anything that is truly prophetic will never contradict the Word of God.
The prophetic must also be pure in motivation, and the desire for the prophetic should come from love. Having a spiritual gift and incredible faith is not enough. A motivation to serve and honour the body of Christ must form the motivation to prophesy.
A prophecy that is pure in origin and pure in motivation will always point people towards the Father’s heart, because this kind of revelation comes from intimacy with God. To see God from the place of a pure heart is to receive our spiritual sight. Purity in our lives results in a clarity of the prophetic that is beautiful and harmonious.
About this Plan
What does it mean to be prophetic? How do we recognise the voice of the Holy Spirit and communicate Him effectively to others? Take time aside to grow in wisdom, develop your spiritual gifts, and learn about the essential qualities you need to live a prophetic life. This 10-day devotional plan is based on James 3:17 from the book, The Nature of the Prophetic, by Sally McCracken.
