Worship Is My Weaponنموونە
We can all agree that none of us can escape troubles in this life.
As a matter of fact, one of the promises that is often overlooked is “in this life, you WILL have trouble” (John 16:33). Now that doesn’t seem like something we would look forward to, but the latter part of this verse gives us hope . . . “but take heart; I have overcome the world.”
So if Jesus has already overcome the world, then how are we to fight in times of trouble? We simply worship Him. This may not sound like the most effective weapon, but I assure you, it is. You see, the posture of worship is surrender. In the natural, surrender would be seen to be a sign of weakness. However, this is not about surrendering to your enemy; it’s about surrendering to your King. You must understand that the King you worship is far greater than anything that may come against you.
In Daniel chapter 3, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were faced with trouble and had a decision to make. King Nebuchadnezzar told them that if they didn’t bow down and worship the idol he had made, they would be thrown into a blazing furnace. However, they responded, “we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and He will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand. But even if He does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.” As if they weren’t already facing trouble, the king decided to have the furnace heated seven times hotter than usual. You see, your worship will always be offensive to the enemy; it’s the boldest move you can make.
If you continue reading this story, you will discover that the very same soldiers that bound Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were consumed by the fire themselves. Not only that, but also the Lord reveals Himself in the fire. Worship (the posture of surrender) will always bring God into your circumstances! This is the very thing that attracts Him, and as you worship Him, He fights on your behalf, and you get to partake in the victory!
I challenge you today: focus on the goodness of the Lord, worship Him, and He will fight for you! To live in His presence is to live in victory. Worship is your weapon!
