Jesus Over Generationsنموونە
There is not a ton of stories throughout the New Testament that talk about Jesus interacting with children. Part of the reason for this is many times stories are told without the ages of the characters. Probably the most talked about story of Jesus and children happen in Mark 10. This story is probably in most children’s Bibles, and it is used to tell of Jesus’ love for children.
Jesus is teaching in a crowd, and some Pharisees approach him asking about marriage and divorce. Jesus engages in the conversation with the Pharisees, and at the tail end of the conversation people begin to bring children to Jesus so he would bless them. The disciples began to act like bodyguards and “shoo” the kids away. Jesus saw all of this happening and used it for a time to teach everyone.
“Let the children come to me,” Jesus said. The children did not just stumble upon Jesus in the park. Their parents brought them to Jesus. When is the last time you brought someone to Jesus? When is the last time you invited to pray with someone? When is the last time you told people how Jesus has blessed you, and told them they can have the same experience too? Jesus invites the children to spend time with him. But someone has to bring the children to Jesus.
Jesus is over generations.
