Elijah, The Courageous Leader - Part V
In 1 Kings, the prophet Elijah had just had a mountain top experience. God had performed a miracle for Elijah, resulting in the embarrassment and deaths of 850 false prophets.
Instead of celebrating, however, Elijah received a message from Queen Jezebel that she planned on killing him by the next day. Out of fear, Elijah fled to the wilderness to hide from Jezebel. He was scared and overwhelmed.
God encouraged Elijah by giving him his next assignment.
In 1 Kings 19 we read, "Go, return on your way to the wilderness of Damascus. And when you arrive, you shall anoint Hazael to be king over Aram.. Also, anoint Jehu son of Nimshi king over Israel, ..."
Enemies come at us the hardest after our greatest victories. When you’re under attack, trust God and remember you belong to the winning team.
