Fly High with Jesusنموونە
Know Your Co-pilot
"And Jesus answered and said to her, 'Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.’" Luke 10:41,42 NIV
Jesus is your co-pilot and He wants you to fly high with Him. And all you‘ve got to do is trust Him. This trust will only grow when you build your relationship with Him every single day. Like Martha, we can do all the work we want and yet feel unfulfilled. But like Mary, when we focus on our relationship with our Lord, everything else will fall into place.
Why is a relationship with Jesus the one thing most needed?
Just as proteins are the building blocks of our physical life, our relationship with Jesus is the building block of our spiritual life. Without that relationship, there is no growing spiritual life.
Without a relationship with Jesus your works will eventually turn into chores, even if you start off all geared up and excited. But when there is a relationship, everything is birthed and sustained from an overflow of love and compassion.
How do we have a relationship with Jesus?
To know Jesus you must spend quality time with Him and be purposeful about knowing Him. The more you know Him, the more you start perceiving things through His eyes. When you see through His eyes, you see the truth. And when you know the truth, the truth will set you free.
First, prioritize spending time with Him through prayer and scriptures.
Do it everyday. Do it consistently until it becomes your lifestyle.
Second, belong to a church
Belong, and not just visit! Fellowshipping and actively being a part of the Body of Christ is essential to building our relationship with Jesus. When you are submitted to the right leadership there is someone to show you the way, to correct you and to guide you.
These are few, yet not all the ways, in which you can grow in your relationship with Jesus. You can begin by setting healthy spiritual patterns for all your life, and watch God take you to places that no eye has seen, no ear has heard and no mind has conceived. Remember, we are called to fly high with Jesus, not before Him, not behind Him, and certainly not without Him.
