Come & See

DAY 4 OF 5

When we choose to follow Jesus, we become enemies with Satan. Satan will find ways  to tempt us to sin, rebelling against God’s will.

We also fight our flesh. Our flesh means that we are human, and we still have temptation. We are not perfect and we make mistakes.

We have to fight everyday and say No, Satan!  I will not follow you anymore. I follow Jesus now. We have to be in control of our bodies and say No, I will not follow my body or my mind that wants to sin. I will follow the spirit of God.

Do you have any sin that still tempts you from your old life?

Do you need to crucify it?

Crucifixion is how Jesus died, nailed to a cross. It was a terrible and severe death.

Romans 6:6-7, says that our old self, our habits and sins, were crucified and died with Jesus.

Do you need to kill sin from your old life?

How can you put it to death forever?

Stop doing it. Stop thinking it. Stop talking about it.

Say goodbye. End it. This is repentance.

If there is a sin that tempts you over and over again, you need to ask for help from another believer in Christ. James 5:16 says, to tell another person what sin you want to change. Ask that person to pray for you to be healed.

It may help you to write your sin or struggle down on paper.  Burn the paper in a bonfire or flush it down the toilet.  Write your sin on a stone and throw it deep in a lake or bury it in the ground.
