Get Your Gear On
Okay, you’ve heard a bit over the last two days about your special gear. You know it’s been given to you from God to help you as you face spiritual battles between good and evil, truth and lies.
You even got a chance to read about it from Ephesians chapter 6 for the past two days.
But you may still have some questions! Like, when am I supposed to put on this gear? When am I supposed to use it? Can I take it off? Is it heavy? Is it super expensive?
Okay, so, it’s not literal gear. It’s not made of anything you can go out and find in your local market or even order online. It’s from God. It’s supernatural! And it’s freely given to you to use each and every day of your life. Watch this video for more information about three of the pieces of armor that help you stand in truth, righteousness, and peace.
Knowing God’s truth is the quickest way to erase lies. Wrap what God really says about you around you like a utility belt.
God has a clear definition of what is right. Aim for that target and cover your heart with His order like a vest.
When worry and fear try to poison you, God’s peace is the antidote. Lace up your shoes and take that calming cure wherever you go.
Ask yourself: Which piece of armor do I need most today: truth, righteousness, or peace?
Challenge yourself: Draw a picture in the center of a piece of paper of whichever piece of armor you decided you want to focus on today: a belt of truth, a righteous covering for your heart, or shoes to help you walk in peace. Write words or draw pictures around the piece of armor that show what that armor is protecting you from. For example: If you chose the belt of truth, you could write some of the lies you believe around it to show how God’s truth defeats those lies.
Pray: God, thank You for truth, the ability to know what’s right, and for Your Good News of peace. You came to show everyone what is true and right, and to make us right with God. What a gift! Help me to walk in Your light, wearing Your armor, fighting evil, and spreading Your love everywhere I go. In Jesus’ name, amen.
