I Seek a Homeland
We must face up and then fess up to the fact that we are pilgrims. We need to tell ourselves that we are strangers and aliens and plainly declare that our home country is heaven.
My wife put a sign on the wall on her side of our bedroom that says, “I seek a homeland.” It is the first thing she sees when she sits up to get out of bed. She wants putting this perspective on to be part of her daily routine, just like getting dressed and brushing her teeth. It’s a daily choice, not a one-time thing.
The more passionate you are about setting your soul to heaven’s time zone, the more progress you will make in your calling here on earth. There is no greater aid to holy living than living in light of the glory that is to come when Christ returns, or when we die and stand before him.
Thinking of what you want to be found doing during Christ’s return is an incredible motivator. Focus on it often.
