Money and Investing with the Kwak Brothers

DAY 6 OF 7

Investing Part 2

My friend Caleb once told me, “Daniel, I think way too many people are more focused on charging their phones than on charging themselves.”

I remember that in the exact moment he said this, my heart completely sank. I recalled all those times when I looked at my phone, saw the low battery notification, and immediately started looking for a wall socket to charge my phone. How often do we react the same way when our spirits are low? Do we rush to find the nearest Bible to have God’s word fill us? How about when our minds are low? Do we rush to the nearest book, podcast, or video that would help us develop personally? I doubt we do. I know I can at least speak for myself.

In theory, we should never even be reacting to “low levels” when it comes to our spirit and mind. We should be proactive instead of reactive. Oftentimes, negligence in these areas causes problems for us down the road that we often do not see coming.

Many of us take the same approach with our finances and investing ventures. We will often neglect where our money goes when it comes to investments, and we just let others “take care of it for us.”

Now, am I telling you to go back to school and get a degree in finance? No, not at all. That would be too expensive, anyway! But the question I am challenging you with today is, “If we truly believe that our finances belong to God, shouldn't we be proactive about being better stewards?”

As a real estate investment entrepreneur, I have met too many individuals whose finances could improve drastically in both growth and sustainability by exploring options outside of the stock market. Often, through neglect they keep them stationary, until a time comes where they are forced to change.

Proverbs 27:23 states, “Be sure you know the condition of your flocks, give careful attention to your herds.” I encourage you to be consult the Holy Spirit to learn how to be proactive, putting neglect aside. As you continue your day, ask yourself, "How can I be a better steward of everything God has entrusted me with on this earth?"

About this Plan

Money and Investing with the Kwak Brothers

Did you know that Jesus talked about money 11 times in the 40 parables in the New Testament? That’s nearly 27.5% of the documented teachings of Jesus. That tells us just how important our mindset and attitude towards money are. We must be aware of how we form our thoughts and attitudes about money so we can have a Christ-centered perspective.
