Devotional On The Life Of Moses

DAY 2 OF 7

"Many times it is very difficult to release the precious"

The decree made by the Pharaoh of Egypt at that time was that all Israelite sons that were born would be thrown into the river Nile. The sacrificing of babies, especially sons, were a heathen practice that brought appeasement from their gods. The Nile crocodile was also worshipped as one of the gods of the Egyptians.

Due to this decree there were two profitable things for the Pharaoh’s kingdom. Firstly, the sons of Egypt were not sacrificed, and secondly the Israelites would have no ‘seed’ for successors. This means that with no men born in the household would eventually weaken the household and thus stop their multiplication so they would remain slaves all their lives.

So we see in today’s reading that Moses’ mother could no longer keep this ‘goodly child’ and she did what was very difficult for her. Let go her son!

Here’s the key.
Moses’ mother saw that Moses was a ‘goodly child’. Moses had that ‘something’ in him that would bring change to a nation from 400 years of slavery. What she saw was by faith.

You must remember that the enemy has strategies to both weaken you and eventually nullify you. Today, you must do two things that can change your life!

1. Use your faith to ‘see’ what God has given you. Remember what you have inside you has the capacity to change your circumstances and challenge the strategies of the enemy.
2. Learn to let go! By keeping what you have, no matter how precious that is, it will not help you or anyone else around you. As you let go, God can use that which you let go to flourish and bring your circumstances to profit.

In 1 John 4:4, the Bible says that 'Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.' You must know that God is not only with you but lives in you, and today you have the authority to ‘see’ your future in God. You have the ability to overcome the enemy. You have the victory inside you.

When Moses’ mother released Moses, the miraculous took place. When you release that which you must, expect your miracle today and walk away with the necks of your enemies under your foot!
