Real Hope: God's Heart for Youنموونە
The Heart
God asks us to protect or guard our hearts, and I’ll tell you why.
Because our hearts are His greatest masterpiece and when placed in His hands they surge with abundant life. Yet so often we look on the outside, when Jesus looks at the heart.
We look at people’s abilities and talents—how many followers they may have on social media, and we may marvel, but the Lord doesn’t look at any of that. He only sees the heart and its motivations… and you can’t hide it from Him.
You may hide what’s really in your heart from people, but you can’t hide it from God. It’s what’s in the heart that matters. That’s why the Bible asks us to protect our heart, because out of it flows LIFE—REAL LIFE.
A change of heart; well that’s such a blessed miracle! Even in King David’s failings, the Bible says to he had a heart after God’s own heart. His heart was open to change, to repentance, to conversion, to transformation, so life could flow again. God doesn’t look at things like we do, but we can look at things like God does.
So, just as God looked at David’s heart throughout his life, we realize that broken hearts can be mended, sick hearts can be healed, rebellious hearts can be turned, hard hearts can be softened, and black hearts can be made white as snow.
That’s what God sees—not our perfection—but our potential. And what He longs for is for you to offer your heart to Him daily.
