Book of Mark

DAY 1 OF 4

LIFE TO SERVE GOD

Then He healed many who were sick with various diseases and cast out many demons; and He did not allow the demons to speak, because they knew Him. (Mark 1:34)

Jesus did not allow the demons to talk about Him. For the time being, He did not want many people to identify who He actually was. For Jesus, His ministry was not for His own popularity. He did not need to be known and well-known to serve. He showed His loyalty and compassion for everyone. And He did all the services wholeheartedly and not financially. All done to glorify God the Father.

The right motivation in serving is thanksgiving because of His love and His salvation that have been bestowed in our lives. When we accept the task with the right motivation, the Lord will also equip us with spiritual gifts.

Mercy and faithfulness are an example given by Jesus to us in serving. In service the one who must be elevated is the Lord Jesus, instead of we who took part in the service. All types of service that we are allowed to do are by the grace of God and His favor, completing and perfecting the results of our service.

God has equipped us - His children - so that we can serve Him well. All are only from God, by God, and for God. Not for we, ourselves. His words said, not because of our strength, but because of the Spirit of God who is still in us, so that we are worthy to serve Him.

Life is short, do not focus looking for the comfort of the world, let us move to serve the Lord.
