Key Beliefs: Supporting Basic Beliefsنموونە

The Bible
The writer of 1st Corinthians is a man named Paul. He is writing to Christians living in Corinth. In verse 13 he tells them the words he has spoken and is writing aren’t his words but from God’s Spirit, also known as the Holy Spirit. This means the Bible is from God even down to the words used. He also says we need God’s Spirit to help us understand His word. You will often hear Bible teachers say you should begin your time of reading the Bible with a simple prayer along the lines of, “God, open my eyes to what you would have me learn in your Word today.” Our chapter today gives the primary reason for that prayer; we need God’s help to understand His word.
