A Compelling Truth: A 30 Day Journey through Galatians with Rob Stanmoreنموونە
DAY 16
When we accept Jesus, we need to change our old patterns of thinking and believing.
Paul is writing that we can be enslaved by our thoughts, or as in Romans 12:2, that we need to be transformed by the renewing of our minds.
John Calvin wrote, “The human heart is an idol factory”. We often try to find fulfilment in different things. A very good thing in our life can become a “god thing” when we put it above God.
What are some areas in your life that you think you will receive fulfilment from?
In verse 9, we see Paul draw emphasis that we don’t just know God, but we are known by God. When we realise we are known by God, trying to achieve fulfilment in any other area fails in comparison to the fact that, even as you are reading this sentence right now, God knows you and God loves you.
When we understand we are known by God, trying to attempt to be a 'better person’ or do more ‘good things’ to earn God’s recognition fails again to compare, because once we have accepted Jesus, we not only know God, but we are known by God.
Question
