Fulfilling Potential and Pursuing Intimacy
Matthew 12:46-13:17 is all about pursuing intimacy with Christ. That's the key—putting down roots and making those roots go deeper and deeper so that everything we do is led by the Holy Spirit and by following the word of God in the decisions that we make each day.
So fulfilling our potential happens by pursuing intimacy with Christ. I'm a type-A. I’m an achiever, but I need to sometimes just let God be God.
It’s great to read Psalm 9:1-12, which talks about the sovereignty of God and believing that He will never forsake us and that He's given us great gifts, that we need to use responsibly and work hard. But we also need to remember that God is sovereign through it all. And sometimes it's better if we slow down and let God take over.
