WE ARE FAMILY

There is no denying the importance of family. My husband and son are God’s gift to me, but there’s another family that is of great value to the Lord and that is the family of God. 

I grew up in quite a dysfunctional family and I didn’t really know my earthly dad. So, when I became a born-again believer and began reading the Bible, the revelation of being a child of God was incredibly impacting. To know I belonged to God and to a larger family with brothers and sisters was such a gift that I didn’t take for granted. 

Before the foundation of the world, God had us in mind. He created us and then He adopted us as His very own children (1 John 3:1). The Father’s great love has made us His children and it also distinguishes us from the world. His love actually gives us the pattern to love others, and how we love others reflects our Father’s nature.

Perhaps at times you have wished that you had been born into a different earthly family. But it is a far greater privilege to be born into God’s family as His dearly loved child. 

All the riches of Christ are yours for time and eternity!
