Ruth’s Faithfulness
Proverbs 3:3
Let love and faithfulness never leave you.
There was a man from Bethlehem named Elimelech. Elimelech and his wife, Naomi, together with their two sons, Mahlon and Chilion, went to the country of Moab and lived there. Then Elimelech died. After that, each of the sons married a Moabite woman. Their names were Orpah and Ruth. After living there for about 10 years, the two sons also died. Naomi, who had lost her husband and her sons, decided to go back to Bethlehem. She told her daughters in law, Orpah and Ruth, to go back to their own families.
Finally, Orpah said goodbye to Naomi and went back to her family. However, Ruth chose to leave her homeland, Moab, and followed Naomi to Bethlehem. She chose to take care of the brokenhearted Naomi. What Ruth did was an example of an act of faithfulness.
God wants you to be faithful. Be faithful to your family and friends by loving and supporting them, in any situation, especially when they need your help. Be there for them when they need you. And above all, be faithful to our Lord, Jesus Christ, by loving Him and obeying His word in our daily lives.
Prayer
Dear God, I give You my heart and my soul. I want to be completely faithful to You. Teach me to be a faithful person to my family and friends too. Amen.
