Moving Beyond Fear Into Favor: Walking in Your Purpose

DAY 3 OF 4

Matthew 28:18-19 says: Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” (NLT)

Our purpose is to walk in all the authority that has been given to us on Earth and in heaven, and to make disciples of nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This is the reason we exist. To make His name known throughout the earth. Through spreading the message of Jesus Christ and bringing people into the knowledge of Him, we walk fully and totally in the purpose for which we have been created, because it is through the message of Jesus that hope is found and salvation is accessible. We can hope in many things, but it is only hope in Jesus Christ that leads us to eternal life!

I like to refer to it as THE purpose rather than my purpose. It is our collective effort within the body of Christ to brings souls to God. The purpose is clear, it is our assignments (the way in which we are each called to go about doing it) that differs.

I remember realizing for the first time that I had not intentionally led anyone to salvation. I'd taken on the mindset that it was the work of the church and altar calls to do that. It grieved my heart once I truly understood that my purpose on the earth was to invite people into an intimate and personal relationship with God, outside of the church, and I had not done that as a follower of Christ. I'd been a Christian for years before I realized that I just may be the next persons altar call.

When I did, I spent some time learning what it looked like for me to be ready to invite people into the kingdom of God and I looked for opportunities to do just that.

When we understand purpose, our perspective of how we are called to live changes.

How has this new understanding of purpose shifted your perspective of your daily Christian walk?

About this Plan
