The Church Has Left the Buildingنموونە
As believers we can be love in ACTION when we have EMPATHY and use it for ADVOCACY. Empathy is called the ministry of presence, where we are able to be with people in their pain. Sitting and understanding someone else’s journey requires listening, willingness to learn from others and understand one's self, as well as advocating for people who have no voice. The Samaritan had empathy and took pity on the man; he was with him in his pain. The Samaritan used his time, his influence, his resources, and his connectivity to help the man who was robbed and beaten. He was committed to the process of recovery. He interceded on behalf of the man and demonstrated a heart of generosity, willing to do whatever necessary to support his neighbor. It is our job to advocate and see the quality of life increase for others whenever within our means. We too can use our gifts, talents, education, influence and resources as children of God, to make life more equitable for others. We must love WHY God has given us what we have, more than WHAT he has given us. For God so loved the world, He gave His very best in the form of His only son, Jesus. Let’s give all we have to care for the people God loves.
Questions:
1. What has God given you that would be a costly offering but could build bridges within our cities? Why do you believe God has given you passion, influence, resources or ability in this time in history?
