When People Pray: Unlocking a Passionate Prayer Lifeنموونە
Key 9: Read the Bible and Meditate
After reading the Bible, meditate on it. One day, you might meditate on a whole chapter or story, and on another day, only a single verse or phrase.
Joshua 1:8 explains the power of Scripture meditations: “Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.”
Take a minute and think about the verses. How do they apply to you?
What does it call you to do?
When you Meditate, remember Jesus’ words, “Blessed rather are these who hear the Word of God and obey it.”
The whole point of reading the Bible is to put it into practice.
Key 10: Confess and Repent
Meditation brings us to a place where we can reflect on our spiritual condition. Ask God to search your heart and reveal any hidden sin.
Consider Psalm 139:23-24, “Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you and lead me along the path of everlasting life.”
Confession is good but it is incomplete without repentance.
Make this a part of your daily time with the Lord. Confess and Repent.
