Moving Beyond With What You Haveنموونە
DAY TWO: God Is With You.
We all have dreams in our hearts or thoughts in our minds that might seem crazy upon first thought. It could be something we feel so passionate about, and yet we sometimes cast it aside, thinking we aren’t the one for the job. I know I felt that way when the issue of human trafficking was put on my heart years ago. I had so many questions. Why me? How could I? But what I’ve learned over the years is how that’s a small mindset to have. It’s not just me taking on a massive project, but God goes with me and before me.
The truth is, we can only go so far on our own. Romans 3:23 reminds us that we all fall short of the glory of God. This is why we can feel overwhelmed or intimidated by a project or dream when it seems much larger than we are. We may accomplish great things, but we simply aren’t able to fully measure up. The good news, and the beauty of 2 Corinthians 12:9, is that the grace of God is sufficient for us and His power is made perfect in our weaknesses. We have the power of God with us! He fills in the gaps where we fall short by equipping us with power, love, and self-discipline through His Spirit in us. That’s what Jesus left us with when He left this earth: A Helper and Advocate who guides us in every step.
We have been saved and called to live a holy life—a life set apart from those around us—according to 2 Timothy 1, “not because of anything we have done but because of His own purpose and grace.” It’s never really our doing; it’s God with us that enables us to move beyond.
Is there a dream or an idea you’ve had that maybe you’ve never told anyone about because it seems impossible for you to do? Write down one or two things you think about doing when you let your imagination run wild and ask God to reveal to you what next step you should take.
