14 Days to Peace

DAY 4 OF 14

The Word of God is full of promises for your protection. You can turn every promise into a prayer. Here are five of my favorite prayers of protection straight from God’s Word:

Isaiah 54:17 (ESV)

Thank you Lord that no weapon formed against me shall succeed for such is the heritage of the servants of the Lord!

Isaiah 41:10 (ESV)

Lord, let me fear not, for you are with me; let me be not dismayed, for you are my God. You will strengthen me. You will help me. You will uphold me with your righteous right hand.

Psalm 23:4 (ESV)

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
     for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.

2 Timothy 4:18 (ESV)

Lord, let the words of the Apostle Paul be true of me—I’m sure that you will rescue me from every evil deed and bring me safely into your heavenly kingdom.

Romans 8:35-37 (ESV)

Lord, who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?...

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through you who loved us.

When you feel afraid or don’t know how to pray, return God’s Word to Him in prayer. All of God’s Word is Spirit-infused so, when you pray scripture, you pray in the Spirit. And that’s the Gospel!

Questions for Reflection:

1) In what ways do you need protection?

2) Which promise is the hardest for you to claim right now? Why?

3) Go back over the prayers of protection and pray them over your own life. How would your prayer life change if you really, truly believed every promise of God?
