The Wound of Unworthiness

Another woman’s story: “My life was changed when I asked a simple question to a God I thought I already knew. I asked Him, ‘How much do You love me?’ I was shocked to hear so many kind and truthful words pour over me. He really wanted me to know how deep His love was; until then I had been unknowingly living my days in wounds of rejection and unworthiness. Coming into agreement with God’s truth brought me out of living on ‘auto-numb.’ His love awakened me to His truth, where peace, healing, and freedom are found.  As I placed my heart in a posture of surrender and repentance, my life opened up to know and walk in the amazing love of Christ. I’m so thankful for the life change that happened as I learned about freedom in Christ.”

Do you know what God's Word says about you? Is your identity found in Jesus Christ? Can you truly say yes to that question?

The characteristics of the wound of unworthiness:

• A loss of identity, through lies of the enemy. As a child you may have been told lies so many times that they feel true to you;
• A tendency to be task-oriented and performance-driven, always achieving, but never satisfied;
• Numbing out, staying busy, and not dealing with anything;
• Overthinking and evaluating everything, while stifling your emotions;
• Self-reliance and excessive independence;
• Perfectionism;
• Secret judgment or a critical heart (always judging others in your mind, while telling your mouth to be quiet).

Pray:

Lord, I thank you that my identity is in Jesus Christ my Savior. Please expose any lies that I have believed and replace them with the truth of Your Word. I confess what Your Word says about me, that I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

Be Still:

Sit still with the Lord and ask Him what you need to repent of and what He wants you to replace it with.
