Names of God: Through Thanksgiving & Christmasنموونە
Paul shares with the church of Ephesus his beautiful prayer for them. He prays for their strength in the faith, as well as for their knowledge and comprehension of the overwhelming love that Jesus Christ has for them. Paul ends his prayer by praising the fullness of God – He who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think.
Believers must cling to this wonderful promise of God. God has no limits. There are no limits on His presence or on His power. Believers must be careful to maintain a big view of God, giving Him full authority in our lives and depending fully on Him. When we diminish or doubt God’s ability and power in our lives, we will be tempted to elevate our own performance, plans, and actions over His will for our lives.
Are you struggling to accept that God is strong enough, powerful enough, and loves you enough to conquer and overcome any obstacle in your life? Have you allowed doubt and disbelief to overshadow God’s unlimited power and overwhelming love in your life? Have you forgotten God’s past miraculous actions and answered prayers on your behalf? With whom will you share God’s promise of his power today?
Father God, I thank You for Your vastness... The depths, heights, and lengths of this entire world are smothered in You. There is no place where You cannot work. There is no soul which You cannot save. There is no action that You cannot forgive. There is no place where I can escape or hide from Your presence. Lord, hinder me from minimizing Your power and glory in my life and prevent me from doubting Your power in anyone else’s life. Lord, make Your promises in my heart so heavy, weighted, mighty, and strong that they crush any shred of doubt or discouragement that threatens to creep in. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

About this Plan
What’s in a name? The many beautiful names of God reveal something about who he is and why he functions the way he does. Names of God – specifically written to help us focus on our Lord during the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons – walks us through the study of six of the names God has given himself. Time is spent looking at the truths these names reveal about God, and how this knowledge should practically impact our everyday decisions, emotions, and relationships. “For what higher, more exalted, and more compelling goal can there be than to know God?” ~ J.I. Packer. Come join us as we get to know God more fully and spend time adoring him for who he is. God shows himself to us through his names because of his great love for us. We, in turn, have the privilege of loving, worshipping and resting in Him on an even deeper level during this reflective time of year. Journal with us as we go through this study for the next six weeks…reading and writing what God speaks into our hearts.
