Key Ingredients for Raising Up Dreamersنموونە
Don’t Do It Alone
Raising up dreamers and helping your children find and grow their God-given talents is not something God ever intended you to do alone. In Titus 2:3-5, the Bible instructs the older women to teach the young women and to become spiritual moms. If you do not have a spiritual mom or mentor, begin to pray that God would lead you to just the right woman to help you grow. I pray you find an older woman to encourage you in your walk with the Lord.
You also need to find a biblically sound, multigenerational women’s Bible study. As the husband of a woman in my Bible study always used to say to her, “Go be with your own kind.” We women need one another, and we all need to study God’s Word together.
Do you have Christ-centered friends? There are levels of friendship, but you need one or two friends you can call your companions. You need to find wise women to do life with, those who can and will keep you on the path of righteousness, because we are told if we walk with the wise, we will become wise.
I’ve had many dear friends over the years, but there is one friend whom I have done life with as a mother. We prayed with and for each other. We also prayed for each other’s children. We have been there to encourage each other for more than twenty-six years, and now we pray for our grown children and grandchildren.
You need to make time for all of these relationships: a spiritual older woman to teach you, a good Bible study group, and a kindred-spirit friend or two. Believe me, you will be the better for it, and so will your children.
