DAY 3 OF 7

Day 3

He’ll Change Your Life

Romans 12:1-2, Ephesians 4:17-32, Psalm 139:23-24, Psalm 19:7-14

“I was an atheist for five years, and not a passive one.”

That’s how nineteen-year-old Anna described herself. Then God showed up. An eating disorder and one breakup later, Anna hit rock bottom. Heartbroken, self-image destroyed, her mind was in turmoil, her life and relationships a mess. None of the solutions she turned to satisfied her heart. Instead, they all came up empty.

Searching, she picked up the Bible that had been collecting dust on her bookshelf for years and began reading it. In it, she discovered the solution her soul craved. After that, everything changed for Anna. She wrote in her testimony, “My dreams and plans changed, the way I managed my time . . . who I hung out with, what I said, how I served my family, how I approached people, how I dressed, how often I went to church, how I did my work, the kind of work I did, what I listened to, what I watched, how I saw my career, all my morals, values, and innermost desires changed. Everything.”

You don’t have to start out as an atheist for God to change you. No matter your story, God desires to overhaul your life with His grace. You can’t wholeheartedly love Christ and stay the same. His love transforms your heart and once your heart is changed, your entire life gets a makeover.

Jesus tells us we’ll know Christians by their fruit. The changes God works in our hearts will be practical and visible, such as the way we speak, act, and relate to those around us. He’ll change things like our thoughts, words, and relationships. He’ll invade our old way of living and convict our hearts when we don’t align with His standards.

What needs to be renovated in your life? All you have to do is ask Him and search His Word. Psalm 139 demonstrates this when the psalmist said, “Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my anxieties; and see if there is any wicked way in me” (v. 23–24).

Pride—torn down. Selfishness and self-focus—ripped away. Envy, jealousy, bitterness—chiseled off. Impure thoughts—destroyed. Anger— crushed. Lust—shattered.

Intentionally invite God to search your heart and reveal areas that need to be remade. Even if they don’t seem “that bad”, they matter to God and affect your relationship with Him.

Our God is a practical, hands-on God. He wants even the nitty-gritty parts of our lives to reflect Him. Let Him dig deep and follow through on the process of change—even if it’s uncomfortable and even if it requires hard choices.
