Spiritual Self-Care in Times of Trauma, Stress, and Loss

DAY 4 OF 6

Fill Your Mind with Wise and Positive Input

Clamor. Bad news. Negativity. Fake news. Hopelessness. We are bombarded 24/7 with more input than any human was ever designed to process. How do we sort through it all? Or should we just unplug… and be done?

Successful spiritual self-care requires ongoing nourishment from reliable sources. Who are the people in your life who are good for you? Who are the people who suck you dry and drag you down?

What are you seeing, following, watching, and listening to? Stop and ask yourself what leaves you feeling stronger, wiser, and more peaceful, and what leaves you anxious, angry, or stressed.

Remember we have the privilege—and responsibility—of choosing wisely. Ask the Lord to show you today what to opt out of, unfollow, phase out of your life, or stop. And then ask Him to lead you to the positive uplifting sources of truth and joy and wisdom that will truly nourish your soul.

The change may be uncomfortable at first, and that is okay. But your choice will pay off!
