It's Always A Table For Two - #Life Series نموونە
Freedom
Freedom is part of singlehood. You are free to do what you want; you can date or break up with whomever you choose; your time, attention, and choices are yours. Nevertheless, after freedom follows pain. There is often pain in waiting. I was one of the last in my group of friends to marry. Waiting is not easy. Sometimes, people want to set you up with somebody. Truthfully, I would wonder and ask God if it was ever going to happen. My heart hurt through the wait. If you are single due to divorce, there is pain there too. There is no such thing as a good divorce. There is also pain through the death of a spouse. There is grief and hurt. Freedom and pain are both stages of singlehood. Regardless of the circumstance, freedom turns into pain and you begin to feel wounded. Your heart is praying for the right person or setting.
It is important for you to know that God is not making you pay for anything. You are not being punished. The key message for singles is surrender; God wants you to surrender your heart and future to Him. Do not relive your circumstances nor dwell in pain. Surrender your singlehood and trust that He is mindful of your desires.
Some of us drift back and forth trusting God one minute, and the next minute going back to doubt and fear for our future. We get stuck in a trough with our singleness and cannot get out.
At an amusement park or state fair, have you ever been on a ride that is a boat, and it goes back and forth? Then it goes up, reaches all the way up, and begins to go around and around. That’s the fun part when it goes around. If you feel stuck and cannot feel the fun and freedom of the place where God has you, know you can come through this. Surrender your heart, will, and future to God. Pray to Him and say, “Lord, I am surrendering my singlehood to you. I trust You and believe that my future is in Your hands. Surrendered is the place where I need to be. Thank You, Father, for giving me the gift of singlehood so that I can seek You more. Amen.”
