How To Trust Instead Of Worry نموونە
One Glass of Water
How can we move from worry to trust in God?
Have you ever noticed there’s not one store that sells worry? You know why? Because you don’t need to go buy it. People create and manufacture it themselves. Worry just comes to us. It’s at home, in the office, in relationships. It’s even in your heart. You worry about things that you probably should not even be worrying about.
Jesus says in the book of Matthew, “I tell you, do not worry about your life.” This is an easy message to read, but hard to live. I want you to know that I am a fellow struggler with you in worry, but despite that, I want you and me to live this message. Let’s struggle together as followers of Christ and learn how we can lean further into trust and lean away from worry.
A study was done to figure out how much water it takes for vapor to cover seven blocks in a dense fog. The results concluded that one glass of water covers seven blocks of dense fog. One glass of water. Now, think about how worry is like that for you. It takes over life. It feels like the fog is right there in front of your face. And we begin to think, “I can’t see the next step. What’s going to be around the next corner? I’m worried about things. I can’t even see my hand in front of my face.” Yet seven blocks of dense fog—it all fits in one glass of water.
The truth is that some of the things we worry about if we put them in God’s hands, are not really that big of a deal. Most of the time, our worry is something that can fit in one glass of water, and we can trust Him with it. Did you know most of the things you’re worried about never actually happen? You can get all your worries and concerns and tell God, “I’m going to trust You with this.”
If today you are feeling like you’re in seven blocks of fog, like there’s so much dense fog around you that you don’t even know where you’re going, Jesus wants to take all that worry. Your worry, your fog, is just a glass of water for Him.
