This proverb says that we can have a million friends but one friend who really glues her or himself to us is much better. It is even better to have friends who are attached to us than to have family in name only.  Family isn’t always that well glued together and neither is popularity. This proverb challenges us to consider how well we are attached to the people we say we love.
