Let Hope Riseنموونە
The Anchor Holds
We live in a rapidly changing world with advances in science and technology. Our laptops and smartphones are likely outdated less than a year after we purchase them.
We also live in uncertain times. As this is being written, our world is in the grip of an invisible enemy known as COVID-19. From the cancellation of major sporting events around the world to non-essential services being temporarily shut down, life as we know it has been tossed and turned every which way.
In a world that’s drifting toward destruction (2 Peter 3:10), we desperately need an anchor for our souls. Though change is happening all around us at dizzying speeds, we need to be anchored to the One who is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8).
Sailors throughout the ages have known the absolute necessity of having an anchor (or multiple anchors) that holds a ship in place in the midst of a raging storm.
No matter what kind of storm we may find ourselves in, our hope in Jesus is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls.
In Christ alone, the anchor holds.
Prayer…
“Jesus, thank you for being the anchor for our souls. No matter how strong the storms in our lives become, we trust You as the anchor that holds. You are trustworthy, Lord, and we place our hope in You alone. Your sacrifice provided direct access to Your Father. Our only response is to fall to our knees and worship. It's in Your wonderful name we pray, Amen.”
