Courage in the Stormنموونە
Jesus Sees You
Through this plan, we have been reading about the disciples in the storm. They were in the middle of the sea and Jesus was on the land praying. In the book of Mark, it says, “He saw them being battered as they rowed, because the wind was against them. Around three in the morning He came toward them walking on the sea and wanted to pass by them.”
Do you see what happens? He is on the land and He sees them. Do they realize that He saw them? No. They’re straining against the oars. But Jesus sees them. He could see them even if it was midnight, right? Because Jesus has a bionic vision. He can make that happen. “Jesus saw them,” is such an encouraging part of the Scripture. No matter where you are, God sees you. You’re in His sight. He sees right where you are.
Now, maybe that scares you because you are not living the way you should live.
Nonetheless, being seen by God is the greatest thing in the world. In His grace, He sees you. He wants you to talk to Him. He wants you to follow Him and not live in worry about everything. He wants you to know that not only does He see you, but He’s got you.
You’re never going to be satisfied. It’s earth. He is using earth to prepare you for heaven because His eyes are on the sparrow and His eyes are on you. Do not be anxious. He looks after you. Widows and widowers, He looks after you. He cares for the orphan. He cares for the poor. He sees you in His eyes. Not only does He see you, but He also intercedes for you in an amazing way. He hangs in there with you.
After Jesus saw the disciples in the storm, it says that He walked towards them. They became startled and cried out in fear because they thought He was a ghost, and Jesus told them, “Have courage! Do not be afraid.”
Be encouraged today knowing that Jesus is on His way. Hang in there. Do not be afraid, and trust that His presence is always with you. Life is tough and many times it feels like we won’t make it through the storm, but Jesus will walk across the water to be right there with you.
