Love God Greatly: Fear & Anxietyنموونە
Fear and anxiety sometime can be birthed from seasons of loneliness. If we believe no one understands what we are going through or that we are completely alone in our circumstances, it can be easy to fall into fear.
When the Israelites were about to enter the promised land, Moses reminded them not to be afraid of the enemies they would encounter because the Lord would be with them. Their God would neither leave nor forsake them. God had rescued them from slavery in Egypt and sustained them in the wilderness for forty years. Even after these miracles, they still faced doubt and fear over whether or not God would be with them.
David, as a shepherd and a runaway king understood loneliness. Yet, he penned some of the most comforting words of Scripture in the Psalms. He recognized God’s presence in his life and understood that no matter what circumstances arise, the Lord would be his comfort.
Father God, thank You for Your Presence. Help me to feel Your presence in my life today. May Your Spirit give me comfort and peace. Help me be strong and courageous when I feel weak and afraid. Thank You for giving me Your Son as the perfect example of obedience. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
