Graves Into Gardens: Restoring Hope in Dead Places

DAY 7 OF 8

NEVER LOST

You never lost a battle.

No, You never lost a battle.

And I know that You never will.

When you think of battles in the Bible, a few prominent ones might come to mind. David defeating Goliath, Joshua marching around Jericho, Gideon facing a vast army with only 300 men.

Each of these battles had something in common: every one of them won their “battle” in unexpected ways.

Military leaders wanted David to fight with armor and a sword, but God told him to pick up five smooth stones.

The people wanted Joshua to storm Jericho by force, but God told them to march around the city.

Gideon didn’t want to lead an army, but he eventually followed God’s will and the enemy retreated without any of Gideon’s men having to lift a sword.

In each case, God won them the victory in ways we wouldn’t have expected. There is a catch though:

God didn’t fight their battles FOR them, He fought WITH them.

Deuteronomy 20:4 says that, “For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.”

God doesn’t lose His battles. He’ll fight with you, but you’ll have to be willing to head into battle with Him. Whether that looks like facing impossible odds like David and Gideon or taking an unlikely path like Joshua, God follows after your willingness.

About this Plan

Graves Into Gardens: Restoring Hope in Dead Places

The enemy wants you to think that it’s over –– that your disappointments, failures, and struggles will bury you. But God’s not finished with you yet. He can turn disappointment into hope, failure into faith, and struggle into victory. He’s a God who turns graves into gardens –– and He wants to do it for you.
