The Story of Two Sons
WRAP UP
The younger son in this story did the unthinkable. He demanded his share of the property that he should only have received AFTER his father died. The dad had every right to say NO! But rather than forcing his son to stay, he allowed him to make his own choice and leave.
But did you notice where the dad was when the son came home? It says, “But when he was still a long way away, his father saw him”. His dad must have been waiting and hoping he would come home. And when he did, he didn’t get angry but he welcomed him with a big hug and a kiss. This is similar to how God treats us. God won’t force us to obey Him. He allows us to make our own choices, even if they’re bad. But He never gives up on us, never stops loving us and never stops waiting for us to turn around and come back to Him. If we do, He welcomes us with open arms and celebrates with us!

About this Plan
Jesus would often tell short stories called parables when He was speaking to people. These parables would be used by Jesus to teach about a particular aspect of God and His Kingdom, inviting and challenging His listeners to think more deeply about their lives. Jesus’ parables have a lot to teach us today as well! Watch the fun videos and enjoy learning more about God! (Bible study ages 9-12)
