Fear Busters (Week 1)نموونە
Day Four - Keep your eyes fixed on Him!
Yesterday, we looked at facing our fears and what it means to step out of our boat. We looked at how it would have taken great faith and trust in Jesus for Peter to step out of the boat. It can take us great faith and trust to step out and face our fears too!
Today, we are going to continue to look at our Bible story for the week - Jesus walks on Water (Beginners Bible pg.364-371 / Matthew 14:22-33). Take time to re-read through this as a family.
What happened when Peter stepped out of the boat?
When Peter faced his fear and stepped out of the boat, he started to walk towards Jesus! As Peter began to walk towards Jesus on the water he saw the wind and the waves, became afraid and began to sink but Jesus reached out His hand and saved him. When Peter took his eyes off Jesus and focused more on what was happening around him, He began to sink.
ASK:
Where in life are you focusing more on the world around you and not on Jesus?
REMEMBER:
Our memory verse for this series, 2 Timothy 1:7, says that "For God has not given us a spirit of fear or timidity, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." This means that we don’t have to be afraid of anything! God is with you all the time, and He loves and cares for you so much!
FEARBUSTER PRAYER:
You are bigger than my fears, you wipe away my tears. I have a voice to pray, you teach me what to say. I am brave because of You! We tell our fear to quit, we've had enough of it!
