WHY SHOULD I INVITE?
Again, we're faced with another question that isn't always asked aloud, but is certainly considered by the vast majority of church attenders. The reason we know this is true is because roughly 4,000 churches close every year with only 1,000 churches being started every year. We are losing ground because as a whole, church attenders have decided that it's either not important or not worth it to invite their friends to church. So the question becomes, why should I even invite my friends to church?
The answer is that we should invite our friends to church because of people like Jess. Jess was invited to church by some friends after hearing about the congregation at a memorial service. She attended, felt God's Presence, met Jesus, signed up to serve, and is signed up to get baptized. Because of that, her friends will begin to come to church, her family members will be blessed by her life being changed by Christ, and her future family will be vastly different.
Her life, her surroundings, her future has been altered and surrounded by the love of Christ - all because someone invited her.
The power of an invitation lies not in us as inviters or in anything we do or say. The power lies in the fact that the invitation is the 'come and see' the wonder of our God.
This is why we invite.
About this Plan
Why do we show up early on Sundays? Why do we wake up early to pray for church every day of the week? Why do we smile, give high-fives, & stay focused to serve others at church? Why do we give our hard earned money? Why do we invite people to join us? This 7-day plan walks through the 'why' behind the 'what' of serving & being a part of a local church.
