Working Together in a Time of Crisisنموونە
Staying connected with other people is critical in a time of crisis. Technology can help. This was true even in biblical times.
Paul, who traveled across ancient Judea setting up churches, left behind leaders who he needed to coach and encourage. His strategy for doing this was to take one of the newest technologies, writing letters, and to turn it into a way of managing people and supporting them from a distance.
In the first chapter of 2 Corinthians, Paul writes vulnerably about going through a hard time. In Paul's day, writers, philosophers, and religious leaders didn't share in this personal way. Paul adapted the latest technology for his relational purposes. He used the medium to increase authenticity and build relationships.
In the current crisis, you can also be creative with technology. Connect with others using whatever means is available to you – and don’t be afraid to be authentic and vulnerable. Share your own fears and struggles, and others will open up to you. Together you can encourage one another.
Prayer: God, thank you for your gifts of technology. Help me genuinely connect with others during this time. Amen
