A Step Of Faith

DAY 2 OF 8

Faith During A Crisis

From time to time there can be situations that come up in our lives that we didn’t expect. Sometimes these are wonderful surprises that fill us with joy, and other times they are moments of crisis where we don’t know what to do. In today’s passage we find Jairus in the middle of a crisis.

Jairus, a leader of the local synagogue, would have been a well-respected person in the community. But at this moment, his focus was on one thing: the fact that his twelve-year-old daughter was so sick that she was close to death, and he could do nothing to help her. Jairus makes a decision in his crisis. He decides to go to Jesus and plead with Him to heal his daughter. He took a step of faith, believing that Jesus was the answer to his problem.

Questions

  1. Why is the way we respond to a crisis important?
  2. What are some key things Jairus did in his crisis?
  3. Why was Jairus’ response to his crisis important?
  4. How did Jesus respond to Jairus’ request? What does this say about Jesus?
  5. If we are in a hard situation, what are some things we could do to take a step of faith towards Jesus?

About this Plan

A Step Of Faith

Have you ever stopped to think about faith? And what is faith anyway? Does faith actually make a difference to our lives? The Bible has a lot to say about faith. Through exploring the story of Jairus and the sick woman in Mark 5:21-43, we will discover how Jesus responded to their faith, how powerful and loving He is, and investigate how faith in Jesus can impact our lives today.
