God | God Is Holy
Holiness, by far, is the most mentioned attribute of God in the Bible. It is often called the attribute of attributes. Heaven never rests from proclaiming that God is holy. God, in His holiness, is completely and perfectly spotless and pure.
God’s holiness is so amazing; it allows you to see both Him as well as yourself more clearly. It requires you to be holy. But what does it mean for you to be holy? The best definition is “to be set apart for God’s purposes.” And that is what God wants. He wants you to be holy—set apart for His purposes. The world should recognize you as God’s child. There should be a visible difference in your life. Everything you do—how you think, act and live—should bring glory to God.
Holiness is a choice. If you want to live a holy life, you have to make a choice to be set apart. This is not a one-time choice; it’s a choice you make every single day. Every day you have to set yourself apart for God and for His purposes because you live in a fallen, sinful and dirty world. Are you choosing to live a holy life? You need to cry out each day, “O God, You are holy! Help me to live a holy, pure, set apart and consecrated life for you!”
