He is Risen

Day 1: Prepare your heart, Pray for your child (no reading or ornament to hang).
This may seem like a day you can just skip in favor of starting the real meat of this devotional tomorrow. Don’t do it! This is possibly the most important day of all. Today is a time to prepare your heart to worship your Savior with your children during these next two weeks. And it is a time to pray for the hearts of your children to know more deeply the love of God through this season and to connect with the story of Jesus in a way that will change their lives forever! What a gift today is!
Pray the following Scriptures for yourself:
• Lord, help me to draw near to you, to submit to you. Show me how to live a life of worship to you. Come near to me, Lord!
• James 4:7-8 – “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you.”
• Lord, show me how to disciple my children, how to point them to you, and how to pour your love into them every day!
• Deuteronomy 6:6-7 – “These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.”
Pray the following Scriptures for your children:
• Lord, in these coming weeks, show my children in a new and heart-changing way how great your love is for them!
• Ephesians 3:17-19 – “And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.”
• Lord, let my children call to you. Show them who you are, give them a desire to follow you all the days of their lives, and a passion for sharing you with others!
• Jeremiah 33:3 – “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”
