Time Well Spent

DAY 17 OF 21

There’s a line in the Lord’s Prayer that says: “Give us today our daily bread” (Matthew 6:11). We probably all associate that part of the prayer with actual food. Who wouldn’t? But in John 6:35, Jesus brings a spiritual perspective to physical hunger. He tells us that He is the bread of life, the One that satisfies. We all hunger for something or someone to satisfy us, to fill the gaps in our hearts.

Jesus offers us a relationship with Him full of wholeness and satisfaction that will fill those gaps completely. Life is full of things that demand your attention and your time, and you answer those demands in an attempt to find contentment. In the middle of your searching, Jesus offers you the answer to your need for contentment: Him. When you spend time with God, you’ll begin to understand that He is what will satisfy you completely.

Jesus, thank you for filling my spirit when I am empty. Fill the gaps in my heart and remind me as I walk through my day that you are my ultimate contentment.

About this Plan

Time Well Spent

We all want to be intentional. We all want our lives to matter. One simple thing we can do is to change how we start our day, and the best way to start our day is to hear what Jesus has to say. When we start there, it will change how we see things and how we live our lives.
